Often times when a woman becomes pregnant, she gains weight as part of needing to keep up with the nutritional needs of her growing baby accompanied by taking naps, sleeping longer at night and often times caving to her food cravings. 3. Your risk for gestational diabetes is lowered – Gestational Diabetes can come about during pregnancy due to high blood sugar levels and it’s been shown that regular exercise while pregnant can help to decrease the risk for developing it.
4. You will probably experience less leg swelling – Exercise helps to lower swelling by increasing blood flow.
5. Chances are, it’ll help you to sleep better – Even though exercise can give you a positive boost of energy when it comes time to sleep, exercise often helps to improve the duration of and restfulness of sleep.

Additionally, it’s a chance to connect with other nursing mother’s if you join exercise groups specifically geared towards pregnancy.
